For chamas, savings groups and faith-based groups

Formal books for informal groups.

Record every member's contributions, change signatories without starting again, and, when you're ready, join a larger society as a corporate member.

Sound familiar?

  • Our contributions live in one person's notebook.

  • Every time an official changes, the bank wants new paperwork.

  • We'd like to join a SACCO, but we don't know how our group fits.

How Bridge helps

What your group gets.

Signatories

A group acts through signatories with a mandate; change them without changing the group's membership.

Signatories about Signatories
A day in the life

The monthly meeting.

  1. Before the meeting

The treasurer records contributions paid by mobile money during the month.

  2. At the meeting

Members see the group's balance and their own contributions on the treasurer's phone.

  3. After

Two signatories approve a loan to a member; the record shows both approvals.

A signatory is not a member, and that matters.

Signatories act for the group under a mandate; they don't gain shares, savings or votes of their own. When a signatory changes, the mandate changes and the group's money stays exactly where it is.

Questions officers ask

Can an unregistered group use Bridge?

Registered groups and societies can go live; others can use Practice.

Does every member need a smartphone?

No. Officers record transactions; members receive SMS.

Can our group later become a society?

Yes. Registration as a society is a separate legal step; your records come with you.

Can a church run several groups?

Each group registers separately.
